SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) processing is an essential manufacturing process in the composites industry. The transformation process for SMC material involves several key stages:

Material preparation

First, glass fibers, resin and mineral fillers are carefully blended to form a homogeneous compound. This mixture is then pre-impregnated with resin to ensure uniform distribution of the materials.

MOLDING

The SMC material is then compressed and preformed into the desired shape. This stage is carried out by hot compression molding using specific molds. Pressure and heat are applied to consolidate the material.
